Narciso Poudree suits someone who wants a musk fragrance with real substance, built more around powder and rose than anything thin or simple. Jasmine, Bulgarian rose and orange blossom open it softly, floral without being loud, and a heart built entirely on musk carries that softness straight into the base. The single musk note in the heart is doing more work than a whole list of notes usually does elsewhere; it is what gives the fragrance its powdery, skin-like quality, and it is the reason the rose and jasmine at the top never feel separate from what follows. Very little here changes dramatically from first spray to last trace, which is part of the point.
