Our take

Saffron and ylang ylang hit first, a sticky sweet floral with that warm, almost sour edge of the spice. Bergamot lifts it just enough to keep things from cloying, but this opening is dense, a little demanding. Then the heart reveals itself: orris root dusts everything with a cool, powdery haze while Gurjan balsam and cedar bring a resinous woodiness that feels almost lacquered. The drydown is soft sandalwood and ambrette, a musky clean linen vibe that grounds the whole thing. The overall character is a powdered courtier in a saffron robe, one hand gloved in metal. It is not sweet in the syrupy sense, more a warm, dry sweetness wrapped in a metallic shimmer. The texture feels both natural and synthetic, like a niche composition that could have used one more round of polishing. The longevity is just over three and a half hours on my skin, and the sillage hovers close, a personal cloud rather than a room filler. It works beautifully for fall and spring, and the day versus night split tells you it shines brightest in daylight. Who should wear it? Someone who loves iris and saffron but wants a woody, almost austere take, not a gourmand. Who should skip? Anyone craving projection or a traditionally feminine floral. Esraa is a restrained, moody scent, like a library in the afternoon with the curtains half drawn.
