LTH/01 STILL L.E.A.T.H.E.R.
Fragrance notes
Character
It opens with a squirt of tart raspberry that feels more like crushed berries smeared across a new leather sofa than any kind of gourmand sweetness. The saffron arrives fast, dusty and slightly metallic, pulling that fruit into a warm spice territory that smells expensive even if the bottle only cost thirty euros. Then the base leather and woody notes settle in, dry and stiff, like the inside of a freshly broken-in motorcycle jacket that still smells of the factory floor.
This is the scent of a man wiping his hands clean after fixing a carburetor, then reaching for a slice of dark bread smeared with jam. It is an odd combination that somehow works, though not without friction. The leather is animalic and smoky, the raspberry stays tart rather than sugary, and the whole thing teeters between rugged and refined without fully committing to either. It feels more synthetic than natural, which is fine for a Zara release, but the sillage barely reaches a whisper after an hour and longevity fades within three or four. That 2.71 and 3.41 rating tells the honest story: you have to press your nose to your wrist to keep the conversation going.
Wear this in early spring or cool autumn evenings, when the air has a bite and you want something that doesn’t shout. It suits the guy who likes his leathers dark but not punishing, his fruits dry not canned. Skip it if you need presence or if saffron reads as curry powder on your skin. This is a quiet, smoky note in a bottle that could have been a roar.
