Cardamom and pink pepper open with a dry, peppery snap, coriander adding a faint citrus-like rasp underneath. Nutmeg and carrot seeds move the heart into something earthier and a little vegetal, carrot seed in particular giving the spice mix an unusual, root-like edge. Olibanum brings a resinous, dusty warmth without turning sweet, and cedar, moss and balsam fir settle into the base, cold, green and a little damp, like wet bark, not dry leaves.
Staying power is moderate, holding at a fair, steady level without much drama. The sillage sits close to the skin, quiet enough that it feels almost private, more mood than announcement. Fall is where it belongs, with enough presence in winter cold to carry past the season's first chill, and it leans toward daytime wear, though only slightly. It's a quieter fragrance than the name suggests, easy to underestimate on the first spray.
Fanny Bal composed this as an earthy, architectural take on autumn spice rather than a cozy one, dry and a little damp underfoot, closer to a walk through wet leaves than a spiced drink. It's built to disappear into a coat, not to announce itself at the door.
