Galbi
Fragrance notes
Character
Galbi is for the person who wants a resinous leather without the weight of a night-out heavyweight. It opens with a bright lift of lemon, bergamot, and grapefruit that cuts through the cardamom and coriander, giving the early wear a clean, sunlit edge. Elemi adds a crisp resinous touch that keeps the spices from feeling dark or cloaked. This is not a fragrance that hides in a corner. It steps forward with clarity, suited to a day when you want to feel composed and a little sharp around the edges.
The heart moves into frankincense and cedar, supported by nutmeg and carrot seeds. Geranium and lily-of-the-valley soften the resin with a faint floral breath, but the profile stays firmly aromatic and woody. Cashmere wood, labdanum, amber, and ambergris build a warm base that leans balsamic and musky, while leather and musk add a subtle animalic trace. The result is a polished blend that feels modern and urban, more suited to a bright street than a dim room.
Soizic Beaucourt composed a scent that balances spice, resin, and leather with real skill. The limitation is that the powdery accord sits a little loud against the fresh citrus, and the carrot seed note can read more herbal than most wearers expect. For anyone who prefers a clean, transparent spice, that herbal tilt may feel slightly misplaced.
