Cloves and pink pepper open hot, like mulled spice steeped too long, and orange blossom threads a light brightness through the warmth without cooling it down much. There is nothing green or citrus-forward in this opening, only spice building on more spice.
Chestnut brings a roasted, nutty softness into the middle, and guaiac wood with juniper adds a faintly bitter, woody note that runs alongside it. Neither note tries to dominate, and the middle stretch settles into one continuous roasted, woody impression, warm and a little dense.
Vanilla and Peru balsam take over in the base, thick and warm, and cashmeran gives the sweetness a musky weight that sticks around once the top spices have faded and keeps the whole thing a modest bubble, noticed by whoever is sitting close. The Peru balsam adds a syrupy, balsamic pull to that sweetness.
Fall and winter suit it best, worn into quiet evenings rather than bright daytime errands. Underneath the spice, it stays balsamic and roasted, warm without turning sugary, closer to a wood fire built with actual chestnuts on the hearth than to any bottled vanilla dessert. Anyone who wants a warm, spiced unisex scent for the coldest part of the year should find plenty to like here.
