Tequila, caramel, cinnamon, ambergris, vanilla, tonka bean, rose, musk, labdanum, sandalwood, incense and vetiver come together in a dense, resinous blend. The caramel and vanilla lean sweet, while cinnamon and incense push the spice forward. Ambergris and labdanum add a salty, balsamic depth that keeps the sugar from sitting flat. Rose appears soft and powdery rather than bright, and sandalwood and vetka give the woods a smooth, rounded finish. Musk sits underneath to hold the heavier notes close to the skin.
The overall impression is warm and heavy, suited to cold air and thick sweaters. It fits a quiet indoor setting where the heat is on and the windows are closed against the weather. The sweetness feels appropriate when the day is grey and the light is low. It is not a fragrance for hot rooms or crowded spaces, because the richness builds quickly and does not let up.
The balance tilts toward sugar more than the spice can fully correct. Cinnamon and vetiver try to cut through, but the caramel and tonka bean dominate the longer you wear it. Anyone who finds heavy gourmands tiring will struggle with how much sweetness remains from start to finish. It is a limited composition in that sense, pleasant for a short while and then too much.
