California orange and lemon blossom open Amyris Femme on a sharp, sunlit citrus note, all pith and green peel, brightening before the amyris that gives the fragrance its name settles in underneath. Amyris itself smells woody and faintly sweet, a plant material often used to suggest sandalwood, and it shares the heart with iris, which adds a cool, powdery finish. Between the two, it feels bright at first and turns quietly serious by the middle, without raising its voice.
Vetiver, musk and amber form the base, adding an earthy, skin-warm weight that supports the violet and white floral threads in the accord list. Francis Kurkdjian composed the blend, launched in 2012. The season pattern favors the warmer months, blooming through spring, holding up well into summer, and fading in relevance once autumn turns cold. Staying power is long-lasting once the fragrance settles, holding its structure well past the opening notes.
