Opus Kore opens with a burst of acai berry and Sicilian lemon, bright and pulpy, like a fruit salad left too long in the sun. The sweetness is there, but it’s rinsed through with something ozonic and aquatic, a coolness that keeps the opening from cloying. The heart blooms with magnolia and raspberry, soft and powdery, with violet leaves adding a green, slightly metallic edge. This is where the fragrance feels most like itself: a watercolor wash of pink and pale green, pretty but deliberately soft-focus. The drydown settles into musk, sandalwood, and amber, but the transparency never fully thickens into warmth. It stays a whisper, a silk scarf trailing behind a woman walking away.
That’s the whole problem, really. Opus Kore is lovely in an abstract, delicate way, but the longevity and sillage numbers aren’t lying. You get maybe two hours of modest presence before it retreats to your own skin, and even then it’s a polite, powdery ghost. It feels natural and airy, never synthetic, but it also feels like a sketch that never gets filled in. This scent suits someone who wants a flicker of spring without demanding attention, a wear-it-to-brunch or museum-hopping companion when the weather is mild. Skip it if you want to make an entrance or if you expect your perfume to outlast your commute. Opus Kore is a pretty thought, not a statement.
