Gent opens with a bright pineapple note that feels juicy and sunlit. The fruit is clear and immediate, giving the fragrance a welcoming start. Black pepper enters soon after, adding a sharp bite that cuts through the sweetness. The spice feels dry and brisk rather than hot, keeping the opening from becoming too soft.
Palisander rosewood and guaiac wood form a sturdy base that leans warm and resinous. The woods feel smooth and polished, with a faint amber glow that rounds out the sharper edges. There is a clean, almost soapy quality to the drydown that keeps it from feeling heavy or overworked.
The overall character is sweet but balanced by spice and wood. It sits comfortably between casual and dressed up, feeling approachable without trying too hard. Composed by Chavalia Mwamba and launched in 2015, it carries a modern masculine tone that avoids loud posturing.
