Our take

Yellow Diamond suits a wearer who wants citrus without the usual cologne-fresh coldness. Amalfi lemon, pear, bergamot and neroli open juicy rather than sharp, and mimosa, freesia, water lily and African orange flower keep the middle solidly yellow floral, with just a whisper of the aquatic accord underneath. Neroli is doing more work than the citrus notes around it, giving the opening a honeyed warmth a plain lemon cologne wouldn't have.

Musk, guaiac wood and amber close it out, warm and soft, never really turning woody-dry. Longevity is neither short nor long, quietly present without becoming the focus of the composition, and the sillage stays within a narrow ring around the wearer, easy to miss if you're not close. Guaiac wood gives the drydown a faint dryness of its own, though it stays subordinate to the amber and musk around it.

It's a friendly, easy-wear floral for spring and summer afternoons, better suited to building a rotation of pleasant scents than to hunting for a single, defining signature. Nothing about it demands much attention, and that restraint is fairly deliberate, right down to how little the sillage asks of the people standing near you. Water lily and freesia keep the whole thing feeling fresh even once the warmer, ambery base starts to show.
