Our take

Lemon, bergamot, and neroli open Versace Pour Homme clean and citrus-forward, with rose de mai folded in early for a soft floral note that most fragrances in this category skip entirely. Hyacinth and geranium carry the heart, green and slightly sharp, while clary sage adds an herbal note and cedar starts to show through underneath both of them.

The whole middle stays fresh and green rather than sweet, and the rose de mai keeps surfacing every so often through the citrus and herbs, giving the fragrance a softer edge than its aromatic structure would suggest on its own. Geranium in particular keeps a sharp, leafy presence running underneath the rose the whole time.

Musk, tonka bean, and amber settle into a soft, warm base, simple and close to the skin, never building into anything heavier than a light hum underneath the citrus. Sillage forms a modest bubble, and longevity holds at a moderate, average level.

Warm weather is where it works best, worn somewhere clean and uncomplicated is the goal, with citrus and green florals carrying most of the identity from the first spray through the last trace of it on the skin.
