Sweet orange and green tangerine spill across the air in a rush of juice, sharpened by bergamot and the clean snap of yuzu. Aldehydes lift the fruit into a light, shimmering haze that feels like heat rising off stone. Tomato leaf and red thyme drift in next, their green edges cutting the sugar so the citrus stays vivid instead of heavy. Cypress and pine add a resinous, forested breath, while fennel and bay leaf bring a savory tickle that keeps the opening from leaning into candy. The herbs feel crushed between fingers, warm and slightly rough.
Beneath it all, sandalwood and cedar hold a pale, dry woodiness that grounds the brightness without dimming it. Patchouli and vetiver add earth, myrrh and ambergris give a soft, balsamic warmth, and white musk settles everything into a clean, powdery finish. Bertrand Duchaufour composed this unisex release in 2023 with a clear picture of midday in mind. You are sitting still while the shade of a cedar moves slowly across your arm and the air smells of peeled oranges, crushed tomato stems, and sun-warmed pine needles on a wooden table.
