Hispaniola
Fragrance notes
Character
Hispaniola opens with red mandarin and bergamot brightened by a sharp ginger lift. The citrus feels clean and immediate, giving way to copaiba balm and vanilla in the heart. Vetiver adds a dry, earthy thread that keeps the vanilla from becoming heavy. In the base, blue amber and benzoin provide a resinous warmth, while salt and musk soften the edges. The composition stays near the skin without vanishing, and the scent remains present through a long morning without needing attention. It feels suited to bright interiors and open windows, carrying a balsamic sweetness that works best in clear, sunlit air.
The materials lean slightly synthetic in the drydown, where the musk and benzoin take on a flat, powdery texture. This smoothness lacks the depth that natural resins usually provide, making the later stages feel a bit one-dimensional. The ginger and mandarin fade early, leaving a predictable trail that does not evolve much after the first hour. It is a straightforward wear with a warm, spicy character, but the simplicity becomes noticeable once the initial citrus steps back.
