Burning Cherry opens Lovefest with a jammy, almost scorched fruit note, more like fruit reduced over heat than fresh off the tree. Raspberry adds tartness before bergamot cools things down for a moment. Praline and heliotrope pull the cherry toward caramelized sugar fast, turning the top closer to dessert than orchard fruit, while damask rose and jasmine sambac layer in a green, floral edge alongside the sweetness, giving the opening more than one note to notice.
Palo santo, guaiac wood and patchouli anchor the base, giving the sugar somewhere dry and woody to land instead of drifting into something purely edible. Haitian vetiver and peru balsam add a resinous, slightly dry depth underneath, though the fruit and praline never fully step aside. Staying power is moderate, present for a fair while before it fades toward something softer, and the sillage sits close to the skin, private enough that it needs a shared conversation, not a shared room, to be caught with the cherry and praline together. Fall and winter bring out the warmth in the balsamic base best, though a cool spring evening works too. The sweetness never turns simple, held down by patchouli and wood at every stage.
