Our take

Pink pepper and grapefruit open with a sharp, peppery snap, and elemi adds a resinous edge underneath before cinnamon and paprika take charge. Saffron gives the heart a dry, faintly leathery warmth, more red pepper flake than sugared spice, and the whole opening moves fast, one note handing off to the next almost before you can name it, bergamot barely getting a moment to itself.

Tobacco and leather carry the base and are where the fragrance digs in and stays put for a good long while, more marathon than sprint, easy to pick up on someone sitting right beside you without it ever turning loud. Vetiver runs dry and green through the middle of it, giving the leather a sharper, more textured edge and the whole base a slightly bitter, grounded finish. Fall and winter are its season, when warm spice and leather feel right against cold air, and pink pepper stops feeling out of place against all that cinnamon. It's a straightforward fragrance built around spice rather than flowers, better suited to going out than sitting behind a desk, and honest about being a little loud from the very start.
