Our take

You start with a citrus burst that feels almost synthetic in its sharpness, yuzu and bergamot and mandarin leaf all vying for attention, but the ambergris beneath is warm and salty, pulling it into something more animalic. As the citrus fades, the heart becomes a crowded garden of contradictions: propolis sticky and medicinal, olibanum smoky, neroli and magnolia offering a brief floral respite, while oud and patchouli and cedar rumble in the background like distant thunder. The dry down is where this fragrance finds its voice, a rich vanilla and myrrh blend softened by saffron and underpinned by castoreum's leathery warmth. It feels like an old velvet armchair in a sunlit conservatory, worn and slightly dusty, the scent of beeswax and dried flowers clinging to the upholstery.

This is a deeply natural, niche construction, heavy on texture and low on projection, which is both its charm and its weakness. The sillage is modest at best, and longevity just adequate you will need to reapply if you want it to be noticed. That restraint suits the introspective character, but if you crave a beast mode oud, look elsewhere.

Wear it in spring or fall, for a quiet afternoon alone or a dinner with someone who appreciates subtlety. Skip it if you want loud compliments or find animalic notes challenging. It is a fragrance that rewards patience, not performance.
