Our take

Cumin sits right up front alongside cloves and mandarin orange, warm and spicy in a way that's more assertive than most citrus-topped fragrances risk.

It reads as an unusual opening: warm spice first, sweetness only arriving once cardamom and licorice show up in the heart, mango and caraway trailing somewhere behind them and never quite catching up to the spice.

Vanilla, amber and patchouli carry the base, a deep, resinous combination that holds for a very long stretch and carries a real, noticeable reach well beyond the wearer, still readable on fabric long after most fragrances would have faded completely. Gardenia and heliotrope add a powdery floral note in the middle, though spice dominates everything around it from start to finish, leaving little room for anything softer to take the lead.

Fall and winter are where this belongs, heavy spice for short days, worn as an evening fragrance more than a daytime one given how noticeable it is. It isn't subtle, and it isn't meant to be: real weight, real spice, most at home after dark once the temperature drops and the air itself turns a little sharper, warm coats and all.
