Our take

Ylang-ylang lends a creamy, banana-like softness to the opening that feels almost edible. The rose here is not the sharp, dewy kind found in fresh-cut bouquets. It presents itself as a dried, slightly sugared petal that carries a distinct powdery texture.

Jasmine and Egyptian jasmine sit at the center, creating a dense white floral heart. This part of the composition feels heavy and indolic, pushing the scent into a rich, almost syrup-like territory. The yellow floral facet adds a sunny warmth that contrasts with the cooler musk waiting underneath.

The musk in the base is clean and slightly soapy, but it does not lighten the overall weight of the flowers. This is a scent that occupies a generous amount of space around the wearer without overwhelming a room entirely. The petals linger on the skin for an extended period, requiring only a small amount to be effective.

Composed by Jorge Lee, this Nishane release leans heavily into a vintage aesthetic that modern noses might find dated. The sweetness combined with the powder can become cloying in warmer weather. It is a beautiful study in traditional florals, but the specific balance of notes lacks the crisp edge that makes a heavy perfume wearable every day.
