Desired Earth
Fragrance notes
Character
Desired Earth opens with a dusty, almost medicinal blast of immortelle and cade oil, a darkly resinous smoke that feels like the first shovel breaking sunbaked soil. The elemi lifts it just enough to keep things from turning funereal, but make no mistake, this is an earthy, aromatic scent with no interest in being polite. As it develops, red cedar and tolu balsam introduce a gently sweet warmth, while myrrh drapes a sheer, liturgical veil over the heart. The drydown is where the magic settles: vetiver and iris offer a rooty, slightly powdery base, with vanilla softening the edges into something almost comfortable, like a well worn leather jacket left out in a dry meadow.
The overall character is a jar of wildflower honey that has been buried for a season, unearthed with bits of resin and cedar bark clinging to the glass. It feels natural yet niche, leaning heavy on balsamic and herbal tones, with a faint sweetness that never tips into gourmand. Yet the numbers tell a sobering story: sillage barely above a whisper at 2.66, longevity hovering at 3.27. This is a skin scent that asks for closeness, not projection. It suits the patient introvert who prefers their fragrance to be a private meditation, best worn in spring or autumn daylight when the air has a bit of chill to carry its tender wisps. Skip it if you expect to be smelled from across a room, or if cade and immortelle sound like a scrubber waiting to happen. A beautiful but fragile artifact.
