Crépuscule Des Âmes
Fragrance notes
Character
Crépuscule Des Âmes opens with a brisk slap of clary sage and mandarin, the citrus pulled taut by cardamom’s green spice. It feels like stepping into a cool, stone-floored room where someone has just burned incense and left a bowl of bruised orange peels on the sill. The heart is where the tension lives: pimento lends a peppery, almost berry-like warmth, while hyssop introduces a medicinal, herbaceous clarity that keeps the incense from drifting into cathedral solemnity. As it dries down, the base reveals its guts. Hyrax is the troublemaker here, a dirty, animalic musk that smudges the clean patchouli with something feral and warm. It is not a polite scent. The overall effect is of a leather jacket draped over an altar, unshaven and oddly reverent.
This is unmistakably niche, leaning synthetic in the way that high-end resins and musks can feel constructed rather than raw, but the composition is sharp and intentional. The longevity and sillage are moderate, both hovering around the 3.2 mark, so do not expect a room-filler. It suits someone who likes their fragrances complicated, who does not mind a little grime alongside the smoke. Skip it if you want clean, crowd-pleasing freshness or if the idea of animalic notes makes you recoil. Wear this in early spring evenings, when the air still bites, or on a cool autumn night when you want your scent to match the dim light and the weight of your coat.
