Soprano opens with a startlingly sweet burst of litchi and bergamot, the fruit notes almost syrupy before freesia cuts through with a sharp, clean edge. That initial sweetness is deceptive, because within minutes the heart reveals a creamy, almost edible lactonic quality from the milk accord, layered over Bulgarian rose and osmanthus like custard over jam. The jasmine adds a waxy, indolic hum that keeps things from tipping into dessert territory entirely. Patchouli and leather anchor the base, but the real story is the oud: smooth, medicinal, and very much present, giving the whole composition a dark, leather-bound spine. The dry down becomes a rich, slightly powdery blend of rose and oud, the fruit fading to memory.
This is a fragrance that feels like a velvet rope in a tropical greenhouse: opulent, a little sticky with humidity, and unmistakably synthetic in a polished, high-end way. The longevity is excellent, pushing past a full workday, but the sillage is moderate, clinging close after the first hour. It suits someone who wants to smell both soft and dangerous, someone willing to let the milk and leather do the talking. Skip it if you find lactonic notes cloying or prefer your oud dry and barnyard. Best worn in fall or winter evenings, when the warmth can bloom without becoming cloying.
