Our take

Neandertal Light opens with a sharp, damp green slap of galbanum and violet leaf, the hinoki wood adding a resinous, almost medicinal clarity while coriander flicks a faint peppery warmth. The heart is where this fragrance refuses to play nice: a cold, metallic tang collides with the powdery, rooty weight of orris, creating a strange tension between sterile and soft. As it dries down, ambergris brings a salty, animalic hum, leather and musk toughen the edges, and patchouli and cedar anchor everything in a dark, woody base. The overall character reminds me of a river stone still wet from a spring thaw, with a thin film of oil and rust on its surface. It feels fresh in a completely unnatural way, more ozonic than aquatic, more mineral than floral. This is defiantly niche, a fragrance that wears its synthetic edges like armor rather than apology. It suits anyone who craves intellectual perfume, the kind that rewards patience and asks you to lean in, but it will frustrate those looking for sweetness or easy warmth. The longevity is solid at nearly four hours after the initial burst, but the sillage stays close, almost intimate. Wear it on a brisk spring morning to a modernist gallery or a café where no one will mind you smelling like a copper wire freshly pulled from the earth.
