Terre d'Hermes Flacon H 2018
Fragrance notes
Character
The mineral dryness can feel stark to anyone who expects a soft landing. Standing on a sunlit terrace above a city, the air carries the bright, acidic snap of orange and grapefruit that cuts through the morning warmth. It is not a sweet juice, but a crisp peel rubbed between dry fingers, immediately met by the green, slightly rosy lift of pelargonium and the sharp bite of pepper. The scent sits close to the skin like fine dust on warm stone, refusing to envelop or comfort.
Around the corner, the shade reveals the earth beneath the pavement. Vetiver and patchouli rise from the ground, dry and rooty, anchored by cedar and the faint resinous glow of benzoin. It smells of a garden wall after rain, of soil and wood and citrus oil staining a linen shirt. The aromatic air feels deliberate and composed, a landscape of stone and tree captured in a single breath. Sunlight moves across the terrace floor, the scent shifting between bright fruit and dark earth as the breeze picks up again, carrying the pepper and the cedar into the open air
