Our take

Jimmy Choo Man opens with a sugary slap of pineapple leaf and melon, fresh and aquatic like a fruit salad dropped into a swimming pool. The lavender and pink pepper tumble in quickly, giving it a slightly aromatic, sparkly lift, but the sweetness never relents. As it dries down, suede and patchouli whisper from the background, softening the tropical blast into something vaguely leathery and musky, though the whole affair stays firmly in the fruity fresh lane. It smells like a cocktail garnished with a pineapple leaf, served poolside, gone before the ice melts.

The performance numbers are honest: longevity barely hits two hours on skin, sillage is a polite whisper after fifteen minutes. You get a brief, pleasant cloud of sweet melon and lavender, then it sinks into a faint musky skin scent that requires a reapply if you want anyone to notice. That makes it a daytime only fragrance, best for warm spring and summer afternoons when you want something light and inoffensive. It is synthetic in that clean, aquatic way, utterly mainstream, easy to like and hard to love.

It suits the guy who wants a safe, crowd pleasing freshie for the office or a casual lunch. Skip it if you crave projection, longevity, or any real depth. The pineapple suede idea is intriguing but the execution is a fleeting sugar rush that leaves you reaching for the bottle again. Can a fragrance really disappear before you have even left the house?
