Our take

Cheap & Chic packs an enormous note list, eight notes in the base alone, into a fragrance that still comes across as light.

Yuzu, bergamot, and petitgrain open on a sharp citrus note, joined quickly by cyclamen and water lily for a dewy, faintly green floral heart. Rose, violet, peony, and jasmine blend into a soft floral wash, and the base, musk, ambergris, iris, vetiver, sandalwood, orchid, tonka bean, and vanilla, settles into one smooth, powdery finish, more blur than a list you could pick apart on skin. Staying power is unremarkable, present at first and gradually fainter with time, and what reaches other people stays small, a warm haze that lingers close and reaches only whoever is close enough to talk to.

The name suggests a joke about luxury, but the fragrance plays it straight: clean, powdery, and easy to wear across most of the year, strongest in fall and spring. Anyone drawn to a reliable floral without much drama will get along with it fine, though it is not a fragrance built to turn heads. Someone looking for one distinctive note to anchor a fragrance will find more of that in other Moschino lines.
