Apple, mandarin orange and magnolia open Toy 2 on a bright, candy-adjacent fruit note before white currant, peony and jasmine take the heart into softer, more conventional floral territory. Musk, sandalwood and amberwood hold the base, and Alberto Morillas and Fabrice Pellegrin built the whole thing to read young and cheerful from top to bottom, without much interest in complicating the fruit-and-flower formula along the way. Nothing here asks for a second look, and that seems to be entirely the point.
Staying power is fair and unhurried, a quiet presence rather than a marathon, and the fruity-musk trail stays intimate, more felt than smelled by anyone standing nearby. Spring and summer carry almost all the season weight here, and the day figures overwhelm the night ones by a wide margin, marking this firmly as warm-weather, daytime wear. The magnolia keeps a slight green lift alive at the top before the peony and jasmine settle in underneath, so the fruit never turns purely sugary. White currant adds a faint tartness that keeps cutting through the sweetness every so often, a small dose of acidity in an otherwise soft, rounded fragrance. It is an easy, unserious fragrance, built for anyone who wants fruit and flowers without much weight behind either one.
