Powdery iris is almost the whole opening, cool and a little dusty, like the inside of a leather glove. It doesn't stay alone for long: amber and patchouli move in warm and earthy, and by the time tonka bean and sandalwood show up, the fragrance has turned soft and sweet without tasting like dessert. Leather stays low in the mix, more a texture than a note you would name outright, and violet adds a soft, faintly sweet backbone underneath the powder.
This wears best from fall through winter, when the amber and tonka read warm and the iris stays dusty rather than sharp. A hot spring afternoon pushes it too far into sweetness, and the composition can feel heavy in warm rooms. Sillage keeps a close, easy presence, and once it settles it sticks around well on its own. Iris dominates long enough that patchouli and leather end up shading it more than standing as equal partners, which narrows the whole composition down to one clear idea worn well. Iris never really steps aside, coloring even the amber and leather in the base, and whether that reads as a strength or a flaw depends entirely on how you feel about iris to begin with.
