Infusion d'Iris pairs bright orange flower, neroli and mandarin against something much drier: iris and galbanum, green and slightly bitter, with mastic adding a faint resinous snap underneath the citrus.
It is an odd combination of citrus and powder that somehow feels calm rather than sharp, closer to a quiet chapel than a fruit stand at the height of summer. Virginia cedar, incense, benzoin and vetiver settle into the base, earthy and quietly resinous though never heavy, keeping the whole composition airy from top to bottom despite everything happening inside it.
Longevity is moderate here and the sillage stays modest, close enough to notice but never loud or demanding. Spring suits it best of all, though it holds up reasonably well into summer and fall too, and it belongs to daylight far more than to any evening plan.
Daniela Andrier's iris reads more mineral than floral, restrained ahead of sweetness at every turn. A classic, powdery, romantic iris in the vein of older perfumery this is not, and it may feel austere on a first try before it rewards a second one.
