Damask rose and oud sit right next to praline in Velvet Rose & Oud, an odd trio on paper that somehow reads coherent on skin, dark and a little sweet at once. Clove threads a warm, slightly rough spice through the rose, cutting into what would otherwise read as a polished, one-note bouquet. The oud stays present throughout, resinous and slightly leathery, grounding what could otherwise read as a straightforward sweet rose, and the praline never quite tips into outright candy, staying more caramelized than sugary.
