Our take

Neroli Boheme opens with a bright, spritzy burst of citrus and neroli, the kind of sharp, green-tinged freshness that feels like biting into a sun-warmed kumquat. It’s immediate and cheerful, almost candied, before the Indian jasmine unfurls underneath. That jasmine is not the heavy, indolic beast of a tropical night; it’s airy and slightly spicy, held aloft by the citrus. The whole thing dries down to a sheer, soapy whisper, a clean floral skin scent that lingers politely for a couple of hours before fading. That is the weakness: longevity is a mean three and a half hours, and sillage barely brushes a friend’s nose unless they lean in. What you get is a fleeting, lovely apparition, like a glass of iced tea with a bergamot slice sweating on a wrought iron table in late spring.

This is unabashedly mainstream, bright, and synthetic in the most pleasant way. It wears like a crisp white linen shirt, a scent that refuses to be heavy or complicated. If your wardrobe leans toward deep amber or leather, skip it. But for the person who wants a unisex, sunshine-in-a-bottle spritz that works for midday errands or a leisurely brunch, it hits the mark. Summer is its kingdom, spring its close cousin. A dresser full of dark, demanding fragrances needs one of these, a little breeze of jasmine and neroli that says nothing and offers everything.
