Juniper, tarragon, and artemisia give The Dreamer a sharp, herbal, aromatic opening, unusual for a masculine built around iris. Iris and lily soften the heart into something powdery and violet-tinted, and tobacco blossom and amber round out the base, dry and warm, the herbal opening a distant memory by then. The flax note is subtle throughout, adding a faint, papery texture underneath the louder herbs.
Longevity keeps a level, middle-ground endurance, and the sillage clings to the skin, faint enough that a friend has to lean in to catch it. The composition settles into something calmer with time, the sharp herbs giving way to powder and amber.
Fans of iris played dry and herbal instead of powdery and sweet will find a genuinely different take here, though someone wanting a fragrance with real projection should look elsewhere entirely. The tobacco blossom is easy to miss under the iris at first, but it becomes the most interesting part once the drydown settles in. What's left at the end is a memory of dry tobacco leaf dusted with iris powder, kept low and close, meant only for the wearer.
