Quality Of Flesh
Fragrance notes
Character
At first, Quality Of Flesh snaps with juniper and a double punch of black and pink pepper, a brisk, almost medicinal bite that quickly softens into something far more carnal. The heart is where this fragrance earns its name: styrax and costus weave a resinous, dirty-skin warmth, while narcissus adds a green, slightly indolic floral edge. Patchouli grounds it, but the real story unfolds in the base. Castoreum and civet push a genuine animalic musk that feels like hot breath on bare skin, wrapped in smoky leather and a sticky benzoin sweetness.
This is not a polite scent. It wears like a leather jacket that’s been slept in for three nights, left in a bar, then worn again without washing. The projection is moderate, a little shy for such brazen materials, and longevity is decent but not groundbreaking, around six to seven hours. That restraint is actually a strength, because full-blast animalics can overwhelm the room. The rating of 3.98 reflects a perfume that is beautifully composed but demands a certain tolerance for grime.
Wear this in deep autumn or winter, preferably after dark. It suits anyone who wants to smell like a proposition, not an introduction. Skip it if you prefer airy, skin-safe cleanliness, because this has no interest in pleasing everyone. It wants to be smelled up close, on a collar or a sleeve, a secret that lingers long after the wearer has left.
