Fetish Pour Homme
Fragrance notes
Character
Roja Dove's Fetish Pour Homme opens with a bright, almost aggressive citrus squeeze, lime and bergamot do the talking first, but it's a brief argument. Within minutes, the heart softens into a strange, floral sweetness, fig and neroli meeting violet and jasmine, a surprisingly tender middle that feels like a silk lining inside a leather jacket. Then the base arrives and it does not let go. Leather and castoreum lock arms with labdanum, oakmoss, and a thick blanket of smoky amber, the whole thing drying down into a scent like a vintage Chesterfield sofa in a gentleman's club, polished by decades of cigar smoke and wool suits, still holding warmth from the last body that sat there.
This is a heavy, unabashedly animalic chypre, deeply natural smelling in its complexity, not a synthetic whisper in sight. It's niche through and through, built for someone who wants to smell like an idea of power rather than a nice guy. The longevity is formidable, four and a half hours of serious presence, though its sillage is more a deliberate cloud than a room-filling bomb, which is probably wise. It suits a man who wears cashmere and doesn't apologize, someone who understands that leather and castoreum are not for polite conversation. Skip it if you prefer freshies or if heat makes you sweaty, because this is strictly fall and winter territory, best worn at night when the darkness can match its brooding intensity. The only weakness is that its density can feel suffocating in mild weather, so spring is a gamble, but when the air is cold, this fragrance is a fur-lined glove.
