The fruit feels dense and the spice feels heavy, so the first impression is bold rather than inviting.
The leather in the base defines the entire composition. It is dark and textured, supported by suede that softens the surface. Tonka bean and amber add a thick sweetness that clings to the leather and prevents it from feeling stark. The sugar cane in the heart pushes the sweetness further, so the drydown is warm and rounded rather than dry or smoky.
The rose is present but it does not behave like a typical floral. It feels crushed and heavy, merging with the labdanum to create a resinous weight. This is a scent built for heavy coats and dim rooms where the air is already warm. The mood is serious and enclosed, matching a setting where the outside world feels distant and the atmosphere is thick.
The synthetic quality of the raspberry is difficult to ignore once the leather settles. It creates a plastic edge that clashes with the natural feel of the rose.
