Our take

Si Lolita's biggest weakness is how sweet it commits to being from the very first spray: mandarin orange and bergamot barely register as citrus before pink pepper and a wash of sugary elemi resin push the whole thing toward candy territory. The composition commits fully to sweetness over subtlety, and anyone sensitive to sugar will find this a lot to take on first application.

Sweet pea, heliotrope and wallflower keep the heart soft and powdery, floral without pointing to any single recognizable bloom, and patchouli in the base finally adds some grounding, pulling the sugar down toward amber and tonka bean instead of letting it float free. The elemi resin from the top keeps resurfacing here too, giving the whole base a sticky, resinous edge underneath all that sweetness.

It settles into a modest presence, noticed by whoever stands close, and it holds on for a fair stretch, not particularly long or short. Underneath the sugar there's a genuinely warm, spicy amber doing quiet work, the one part of the composition with real gravity to it. It leans toward fall more than any other season, oddly enough for something this sweet, and it plays best on a wearer already fond of gourmand orientals, not as a first try at the genre.
