Our take

Aldehydes and Brazilian rosewood open with a cool, powdery lift, mandarin orange and bergamot cutting through it with a brief citrus spark before the florals arrive. Lily, ylang-ylang and rose take over the heart, warm but not especially sweet yet, wallflower adding a slightly green undertone that roughs up the bouquet just a little.

Amber, oakmoss and patchouli deepen the base considerably, and that's where the fragrance stays legible on skin for a long run, calm and unhurried about it, picked up easily by whoever's near while staying content to stay there. Benzoin adds a resinous sweetness that finally tips the balance toward warmth, rounding off what oakmoss keeps dry and mossy.

Fall gets the most out of it, though it carries decently through summer and winter as well, oddly the least suited to spring given how heavy the amber gets that early in the year. It's a distinctive, slightly retro fragrance built on aldehydes and amber rather than fruit or gourmand sweetness, one for someone who likes their florals a little abstract and their base notes noticeably heavy underneath.
