Our take

Amore Nero opens with a sharp celery note that feels out of place among the bright citrus. The vegetable edge clashes with the black currant and lemon, creating a jarring first impression that never fully disappears. Bergamot and orange peel try to lift the blend, but the green stalkiness remains, cutting through the fruit with an almost bitter bite. Pepper and ginger join the top layer, adding heat that fights the sweetness instead of rounding it. Rose and carnation sit beneath, their floral softness buried under the spice and that persistent celery accent. Incense drifts through the heart, giving the fragrance a church-like stillness that the brighter notes disrupt rather than complement.

Tonka bean and amber finally pull the composition together, wrapping the sharper elements in a warm, resinous blanket. Vanilla smooths the edges while vetiver grounds the base with dry earthiness, letting the jasmine peek through without dominating. The scent stays present for a long while, clinging to fabric and skin with quiet persistence, and it keeps a gentle bubble around the wearer that draws people in when they come near. You smell it on yourself hours later, a comfort that lingers through cool air and dim evenings. That celery opening, however, is a hurdle that never quite fades, leaving a rough start that undermines the beautiful warmth waiting underneath.
