Our take

There is a certain audacity in promising tropical indulgence and delivering something that evaporates before you can even call it a daydream. Tropical Cherimoya Cologne opens with a bright, almost brash burst of pear and passion flower, a fizzy sweetness that immediately suggests a fruit cocktail garnished with a paper umbrella. The cherimoya heart, that mythical custard apple, is rendered here not as a lush, creamy pulp but as a wisp of floral fruitiness, a quick nod to the exotic before it dissolves.

The dry down is a soft, powdery amber with tonka and copahu balm, a base that smells more like a scented lotion than a perfume. The entire composition feels like a printed sarong left in the sun too long, the colors already fading. It is sweet but not cloying, fresh but not green, and undeniably synthetic in that clean, mainstream way Jo Malone does so well. The longevity, sitting at a scant 2.73, is a genuine frustration. You will need to reapply.

This is a fragrance for the person who wants a happy, no-commitment spritz before brunch or a gym session, someone who values a fleeting moment of good mood over a statement. Skip it if you demand lasting power or crave depth, and definitely do not expect any tropical heat. It is the lightest splash of spring, best worn on a sunny morning when you want to smell like a very polite vacation.
