Our take

Hazelnut cocoa spread sits at the center of this one, and it smells spooned out and warmed, not sugared. Pink pepper and grapefruit crack the top open first, sharp and faintly bitter, so the chocolate note underneath never slides into dessert. It reads as an adult, toasted version of a food note, more roasted nut than candy bar.

Patchouli and vetiver take over for the drydown and turn the whole thing earthy fast: damp soil and green wood push the sweetness to the back seat. Give it time and what opened smelling like a snack ends up smelling mineral, almost bitter, the cocoa reduced to a memory under the wood. This drydown is where Angel Muse earns its keep. Once the patchouli takes hold it grips the skin and refuses to fade quickly, and it keeps to a small halo close in cooler air, not one that spreads through a room.

Fall and winter give the earthy base cold air to push against instead of getting lost in heat. The pairing of sweetness and dirt will not appeal to everyone chasing comfort food, but the drydown pulls hard toward bark and mineral regardless. The tension between hazelnut and patchouli never fully resolves, and that unresolved edge is what keeps the fragrance interesting past the opening.
