Our take

Where most gourmand florals stay soft, Angel goes for something denser: honey and caramel pushed hard against patchouli and chocolate until the composition smells like burnt sugar poured over dark, bitter cocoa, well past anything conventionally sweet. Cotton candy, coconut, cassis, melon, jasmine, bergamot, pineapple and mandarin orange sit up top, brief and bright, fading fast before the heavier honey, red berries, blackberry, plum, apricot, peach, nutmeg, caraway, orchid, rose and lily-of-the-valley heart takes hold and the sweetness turns thick. Patchouli, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, tonka bean, amber, musk and sandalwood build a base that stays warm, spicy and rich, holding its shape well once it settles. It's very long-lasting, hard to scrub off once applied, and the sillage is noticeable, leaving a trail that carries that same weight with it.

It wears best in cooler months and evenings, suited far more to fall and winter than to bright daylight, when the density of the honey and patchouli feels earned rather than heavy-handed. Someone drawn to dense, patchouli-forward sweetness, with honey and caramel anchored by chocolate and amber, will find a lot to like here.
