Our take

Incense opens Fame on a genuinely smoky note, dark and unusual, before saffron and belladonna sharpen the top further with a strange, spiced edge. Belladonna is an unusual choice here, giving the opening a slightly bitter, herbal quality underneath the incense and saffron.

Honey and apricot soften things in the heart, sweet and a little warm, and by the base orchid and jasmine bring it back toward something more conventionally floral. Longevity is moderate, and the sillage stays as a small cloud around the wearer, noticed only up close. Apricot in particular softens the transition from that dark, smoky opening into the honeyed sweetness that follows, so the shift never feels abrupt. Orchid gives the drydown a slightly waxy, quiet floral quality rather than anything loud or sweet.

This works best for evening wear in cooler months, and it fits a wearer drawn to unusual, spiced florals more than a straightforward honey-vanilla gourmand. The incense and saffron up top are the reason to try it, and also the reason people expecting something purely sweet might be caught off guard by how dark the opening actually is. Once the honey and apricot settle in, the fragrance moves into much friendlier territory, and that contrast between the two halves is the most interesting thing about it.
