Fantôme
Fragrance notes
Character
Fantôme opens with a brisk bergamot spark that quickly gives way to a boozy rum note wrapped in the dry, resinous scent of oak. The first minutes feel lively and slightly sharp, with the citrus brightening the dark wood. Davana and cade oil move in soon after, adding a smoky, green edge that keeps the sweetness from becoming flat. A wash of rose water softens the transition, but this is not a floral fragrance. The heart stays close to the wood and spice, leaning into a rugged, aromatic character that feels more at home in a city than in a garden.
The drydown is where the composition settles into its true shape. Patchouli and papyrus create a dusty, earthy foundation that feels grounded and mature. Tolu balsam brings a golden, resinous warmth that blends smoothly with a vanilla note that is present but never sugary. The rum lingers in the background, now mellowed and absorbed into the woods. It is a scent for a narrow street at night when the air is cool and the pavement is damp, walking past old brick buildings where a jazz club door is propped open and the amber glow spills onto the sidewalk.
