Our take

Fantomas leads with something genuinely strange: a rubber and plastic accord layered against ripe melon and tropical fruit, like a beach toy left out in the sun. It refuses to fade fast, and its reach is real, leaving a trail people register before you say a word. The rubber note especially lingers, an odd, synthetic backbone that never fully disappears even as the fruit fades into something darker.

Underneath the fruit, smoke and gunpowder introduce a burnt, mineral darkness that keeps building as caramel sweetens the edges unexpectedly. Cashmeran and patchouli bring an earthy, mossy weight underneath, so the whole thing swings between a candy shop and a chemistry lab without ever picking a side.

It is not built to be liked at first sniff. The plastic and rubber accord is confrontational by design, and it stays confrontational through the wear, never smoothing into something safer.

It performs equally well across the seasons and works day or night, so timing is rarely the obstacle. What makes or breaks it is tolerance for synthetic, almost industrial materials sitting right next to ripe fruit, an odd, deliberate pairing that never resolves into anything more conventional.
