Character
The pear and blackberry hit first, a glossy, almost jammy sweetness cut by a blood orange’s tart zing. Then the night blooming cereus unfurls, a dusky floral with plum’s dark plumpness and violet’s powder. The base settles into patchouli’s earthy anchor, vanilla’s soft warmth, and a dark ebony note that feels like polished wood in a dim room. That’s the image: a velvet-lined jewelry box left open in a forgotten boudoir, its contents scenting the dusty air.
It’s undeniably sweet and fruity, but the white floral and patchouli give it a gothic edge, like a Victorian ghost story written in syrup. More mainstream than niche, with a synthetic shimmer that keeps it from feeling truly natural, but not cheap. The longevity and sillage are disappointingly low, barely averaging two-point-eight and two-point-nine – a shame, because the composition deserves more staying power. Who should wear it? Fans of True Blood’s aesthetic or anyone who wants a sweet floral with a dark twist. Skip if you prefer crisp, airy scents or need projection to last through a full workday. Best worn on cool evenings, fall through winter, when the warmth can bloom closer to the skin. A lovely but fleeting fantasy.
