Frutos
Fragrance notes
Character
Frutos opens with bright bergamot and crisp pear. The fruit is clear and immediate, giving the fragrance a clean start that feels polished rather than heavy. Lily-of-the-valley enters soon after, adding a soft white floral layer that keeps the opening from leaning too far into sweetness. Fig sits alongside it, contributing a gentle, creamy fruitiness that rounds out the heart. The transition from the top to the middle is smooth, and the composition stays light on its feet while moving through these early stages.
The drydown is where the fragrance settles into its true character. Vetiver brings a green, earthy woodiness that grounds the earlier fruit and floral elements. Musk adds a smooth, skin-like warmth that makes the base feel intimate and steady. The fig lingers here as well, bridging the heart and the base so the transition does not feel abrupt. Together, the vetiver and musk create a dry, aromatic foundation that keeps the sweetness in check and gives the scent a natural, slightly textured finish.
Frutos is composed by Julia Casanova Calvo and was launched in 2022. It suits cooler days when a fresh but woody presence feels appropriate, such as a walk outdoors in crisp air or a quiet afternoon indoors. The blend works well for someone who enjoys fruity and floral notes but wants them anchored by earthy vetiver. The limitation here is the fig. It is pleasant, yet it dominates the heart and base more than necessary, making the drydown feel slightly one-dimensional and preventing the vetiver from showing its full range.
