Our take

Geranium Pepper by B96 opens with a sharp bite that can feel a little thin. The pepper hits first, bright and brisk, but the violet underneath gives it a soft, powdery edge that sometimes blurs the clarity instead of lifting it. Michel Girard composed this 2021 release to sit in the aromatic family, yet the balance leans heavily on that violet dust, which mutes the green snap of the geranium before it fully blooms. Cedar appears in both the heart and the base, anchoring the scent with a dry, wooden spine, but the patchouli and vetiver underneath stay earthy without adding much weight. In a sunlit courtyard with stone walls and a cool breeze moving through, the fragrance feels right at home. It carries a fresh spicy and woody character that matches the quiet air and the light on the pavement. The warmth of the pepper sits close to the skin while the floral notes drift upward, creating a clean, aromatic impression that fits the open space. The limitation remains the same from start to finish. That powdery violet never quite steps back, leaving the composition feeling a bit narrow and one-dimensional for anyone hoping for a bolder, more textured green woody scent.
