Our take

The late evening air is warm against the stone terrace. A small group sits close together, glasses resting on the table, and the scent drifting from one wrist is thick with caramel and the damp earth of cypriol. It is a heavy, sweet opening that feels almost edible in the humidity, the sugar clinging to the skin as the first conversations of the night begin.

Saffron and labdanum move in soon after, pressing the initial sugar into something resinous and deep. Violet adds a soft, powdery haze that floats above the white woods, giving the heart a texture that is metallic and bright against the heavier resins. It is not a gentle transition. The sweetness remains, but it is now wrapped in a leathery warmth that feels intentional and firm.

The true character settles in as the oud and amber take hold. The caramel does not vanish, but it sinks into the wood, becoming a dark syrup that feeds the agarwood's sharp, medicinal depth. Amber smooths the edges just enough to keep the oud from feeling too stark, creating a dense, golden smoke that sits heavily in the air around the group. The powder from the violet lingers in the background, mixing with the metallic spark of the heart notes.

The resin continues to heat up against the skin, the labdanum and oud twisting together while the amber glows underneath, holding the entire composition in a warm, sticky grip that demands the air around it stay still
