Our take

This is a chypre that smells like walking through damp woods after rain, where the earth releases a dark, fungal weight. The opening carries the unmistakable scent of porcini mushrooms, earthy and savory, paired with the bright, peppery crunch of coriander. Mimosa adds a soft, pollen-heavy yellow floral touch that feels dusty rather than sweet.

As the fragrance develops, a green and aromatic heart takes over. Basil brings a fresh, leafy sharpness that cuts through the indolic richness of jasmine and the classic elegance of rose. It feels like a garden where herbs grow wild among heavy blooms, creating a scent that is both refined and untamed.

The base settles into a deep, resonant mossiness. Oakmoss provides that signature damp forest floor character, while Himalayan nard and incense introduce a resinous, spiritual woodiness. It is a scent for a dimly lit room with heavy curtains drawn, where the air feels cool and the atmosphere is introspective.

Indolice is composed by Charna Ethier. The one limitation is that the mushroom note is incredibly specific and realistic, which makes the fragrance feel more like a conceptual art piece than a daily wear for those who prefer clean, traditional florals.
