Kaboom opens with angelica and juniper berries that feel crisp and slightly resinous. The angelica brings a fresh, green root tone while the juniper adds a dry, pine-like brightness. This introduction is clean and direct, leaning into the aromatic side of the profile without becoming sharp or medicinal.
The heart shifts toward galbanum and jasmine sambac. Galbanum delivers a pronounced green, slightly bitter edge that dominates the mid phase. Jasmine sambac softens that rigidity with a warm, indolic floral presence, though it stays in the background. Together they create a transition that feels more vegetal than sweet.
Base notes of Haitian vetiver, cedar, and leather give the drydown a woody and earthy foundation. The vetiver is smoky and grassy, the cedar adds a dry timber character, and the leather introduces a subtle toughness. These elements align with the amber and musky accords to create a grounded, slightly powdery finish.
The jasmine is not prominent enough to balance the intense green bitterness of the galbanum. That imbalance makes the heart feel austere rather than complex, and the leather remains too faint to round out the sharper edges.
